Physics Student Association organized FÜSION 2026 on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Multifunction Hall of PPAG. The event was attended by 37 teams (each team consist of 3 participants) from various high schools across Java and served as one of the flagship programs of the Physics Study Program, as well as a form of student community engagement.
Carrying the theme “Odyssey,” FÜSION 2026 invited young students to experience physics as a journey of exploration, discovery, and scientific wonder. Through the competition, participants were challenged not only to demonstrate their understanding of physics concepts but also to develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.

The competition was conducted in teams and consisted of two main rounds: Live Experiment and Science Market. In the Live Experiment round, participants analyzed various problems based on experiments conducted directly by the organizing committee. Meanwhile, in the Science Market round, participants were challenged to create teaching aids based on physics concepts that offered practical applications in everyday life. Participants also took part in a GIGO workshop, which introduced an interactive and creative STEAM-based learning approach.
In addition to the participants, FÜSION 2026 also involved accompanying teachers through a dedicated workshop aimed at broadening their perspectives and providing new approaches to teaching physics in engaging and practical ways.
The theme Odyssey represents humanity’s journey toward understanding nature through curiosity, experimentation, and scientific inquiry. Inspired by the spirit of “magic of science,” participants were encouraged to discover that phenomena that may initially appear mysterious or magical can ultimately be understood through the laws of nature and scientific processes.
After completing a series of challenges throughout the competition, SMAK 1 BPK PENABUR was awarded First Place, followed by SMA Santo Aloysius in Second Place, and SMAK BPK PENABUR Holis in Third Place.

FÜSION 2026 was more than just a competition. It provided a platform for young people to learn, experiment, collaborate, and discover the wonders of physics through hands-on experiences. Through Odyssey, participants were encouraged to keep asking questions, exploring ideas, and embarking on their own journeys toward a deeper understanding of science.
