On Monday, July 21 to Tuesday, July 22, 2025, UNPAR’s Theoretical Physics group held an event titled Physics and Ideas On the New Frontier (PION). The meeting was motivated by the fact that the particle physics community in Indonesia particularly those working on topics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) is still relatively small. However, in recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest among young researchers and lecturers at various institutions. This growth signals a positive development for theoretical particle physics in Indonesia and demonstrates the great potential for building a more solid and active community at both the national and international levels.

Seeing this dynamic, UNPAR’s Theoretical Physics group organized an informal yet in depth scientific forum inspired by the spirit of the Aspen Physics Meetings. The event was designed to bring together researchers interested in particle physics phenomenology, particularly BSM topics, to broaden scientific discussions, share the latest research developments, and open meaningful opportunities for collaboration. Each participant was given the opportunity to present their research topic or area of interest for 30 minutes, followed by intensive discussions both in plenary sessions and in smaller groups.

Presentation and Discussion Sessions
This workshop aimed to provide an intensive discussion platform for researchers in theoretical and phenomenological particle physics. Moreover, the forum was expected to foster synergy among Indonesian researchers in exploring frontier issues such as flavor violation, Higgs physics, dark matter, and various BSM models. Covering a wide range of topics from multi-Higgs models, seesaw mechanisms, and additional symmetries to neutrino phenomenology this workshop was envisioned as a catalyst for generating new research ideas that could lead to collaborative scientific publications.
