Thesis Day

Bandung – On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Center for Theoretical Physics and the Center for Mathematics and Society held Thesis Day V. This was the first time for the Center for Theoretical Physics to collaborate with the Center for Mathematics and Society to hold Thesis Day. Previously, Thesis Day was intended for young alumni of the Mathematics Study Program who had completed the Thesis course to display their thesis presentations. This time, this event involved not only young alumni of the Mathematics Study Program, but also young alumni of the Physics Study Program. Thesis presenters in this Thesis Day included:

  1. Arisnaufal Malik, with thesis entitled “Lower-Upper and Cholesky Decomposition of Symmetric Max-Plus Algebra”.
  2. Vincentius Evan Wijaya Tjia, with thesis entitled “Stark Effect in Eight-Component Relativistic Wave Equation for Spin-1/2 Particles”.
  3. Melati Violina Suyatmoko, with thesis entitled “Modeling of Bonus System in Motor Vehicle Insurance using Limiting Markov Chain”.
  4. Edelweiss Esther, with thesis entitled “Comparison of Fractionation of 7 and 9 Radiation Beam Fields in IMRT in the Treatment of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (KNF)”.
  5. Clarissa Tania Tunggal, with a thesis entitled “Lagrangian and Hamiltonian in Rotation Group”.
  6. Rich Michael Adelgold Simamora, with thesis entitled “Optimization of Graphene Use in Catalyst Layer for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells”.
  7. Aifa Aini Soewandi, with a thesis entitled “Development of Electronic Module of Geometric Transformation with Open-Ended Approach to Improve Mathematical Problem Solving Ability of Grade XI Science Students of Taruna Bakti Bandung High School”.

On this occasion, a young alumni from the Physics Study Program, Rich Mikhael, shared his experience in participating in MBKM Research at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). In its implementation, not only the presentation of thesis results, but there were also posters by active students from the Mathematics Study Program that were also displayed. From this activity, Rich Mikhael and Edelweiss received achievements in the form of the best thesis presentation for the Physics Study Program. In addition, active students namely Kenny Imam and Janice from the Physics Study Program also received appreciation for their activity in asking questions.

Hopefully this activity can be useful and provide new views related to research in each field in both the Physics and Mathematics Study Programs at UNPAR. Thank you to the Center for Mathematics and Community Studies as the committee for the success of this activity.
