Students of SMA Penabur International Kelapa Gading Visit Physics UNPAR

Bandung, January 14, 2026 — The Physics Study Program of Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR) welcomed an educational visit from students of SMA Penabur International Kelapa Gading. This activity aimed to introduce the world of physics in a contextual and engaging manner, while broadening students’ perspectives on the application of physics in everyday life, particularly in the field of healthcare.

The visit began with a brief introduction to the Physics Study Program at UNPAR, the academic environment, and the various fields of study available to physics students. The students showed great enthusiasm upon learning that physics is not limited to formulas, but also plays a vital role in medical technology, industry, and cutting-edge research.

Understanding the Principles of Ultrasound (USG)

One of the main agendas of the visit was an introduction to Ultrasonography (USG). Through an interactive presentation, students were guided to understand the basic principles of USG, which utilizes ultrasonic waves to produce images of internal body structures. The UNPAR Physics team explained the underlying physical concepts, such as waves, frequency, reflection (echo), and how these signals are processed into medical images.

With a simple and visual approach, students were able to directly observe how physics concepts learned at school are applied in the medical field. This session was expected to foster students’ interest in applied physics, particularly in healthcare and technology.

Learning Through Play: Logic Puzzle Games

In addition to the academic session, the activity was also designed to be enjoyable through logic puzzle games. In this session, students were divided into two groups and challenged to solve various logic-based puzzles that trained critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.

These games were designed to demonstrate that logic and systematic thinking the foundations of physics can be developed through interactive and enjoyable activities. The atmosphere became increasingly lively with discussions among students.

Building Interest and Inspiration

Through this visit, the Physics Study Program of UNPAR hopes to provide a meaningful learning experience for students of SMA Penabur International Kelapa Gading. This activity not only introduced physics as a scientific discipline, but also as a means to innovate, create, and contribute to society.

The Physics Study Program of UNPAR remains committed to fostering collaborations with secondary schools through visits, workshops, and science outreach activities as part of its efforts to cultivate a generation of young people who are critical, creative, and passionate about science.
