Student Activities

UNPAR Science Workshop (BSU)

UNPAR Science Workshop (BSU) is a student-led initiative founded by Physics students of UNPAR to present science in a simple way by introducing everyday science experiments to school students. One of BSU’s main activities is collaborating with junior and senior high schools in the Bandung area.

The objectives of BSU activities are to:

  1. Provide junior and senior high school students with an understanding of scientific concepts in everyday life through extracurricular activities.
  2. Introduce science in a fun and interactive way, with the hope of shifting students’ perception from “science is difficult” to “learning science is enjoyable.”
  3. Serve as a platform for community service by fostering the interests and talents of students at all levels (elementary, junior high, and senior high school) in the field of science.
  4. Develop both the soft skills and hard skills of UNPAR Physics students.

Fusion

FUSION (Fun Science Competition) is an annual competition organized by the Department of Physics at Parahyangan Catholic University. Unlike other physics competitions, FUSION not only involves theoretical questions but also emphasizes observing natural phenomena around us, engaging imagination through designing simple tools, and experimenting based on fundamental physics concepts.

The objectives of this competition are to:

  1. Foster interest and passion in pure sciences, particularly physics, which can be applied across various other disciplines.
  2. Develop the analytical skills of junior and senior high school students in understanding natural phenomena in their daily lives.
  3. Train and sharpen students critical, analytical, and systematic thinking in addressing real-life problems.
