Bandung – On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Physics Major conducted a Physics Workshop for 9th grade students of Santa Ursula Junior High School Bandung. The students who attended the workshop this time looked very enthusiastic from the first time they arrived at the workshop room.
The workshop activities were guided by Mrs. Yuanita and Mrs. Cindyawati as Lecturers of Physics Major. The activity began by asking the students what they thought about Physics, and most of them claimed to like Physics because Physics was fun. To prove it, the workshop started by giving some questions about Physics related to junior high school materials.
The questions were packaged in the form of an interactive quiz with students, where students were very eager and fast in answering the questions given, even did not hesitate to ask if they felt confused with the explanation of the answers to the questions given. Most of the students answered the questions perfectly, showing their great interest in the physics they had learned in junior high school.

After an interactive quiz activity interspersed with explanations of Physics and an introduction to the field of Physics that is generally explored in advanced schools, the activity continued with a demonstration of props designed to introduce Physics concepts in a fun way. The first device introduced was the “Thomson Ring” which utilizes the principle of an electric coil to generate a magnetic field. Students were then invited to try and guess what would happen if they added rings one by one to the coil that had been made. The activity was closed by demonstrating how pressure works with a nail chair. Most students enthusiastically tried to sit on the chair after knowing the secret of the nail chair.

The Physics major would like to thank Santa Ursula Junior High School for the visit and giving us the opportunity to invite students to learn science in a fun way. Hopefully this visit can increase student enthusiasm and can motivate students to continue learning the secrets of the universe.
