Basic Physics Laboratory

The Basic Physics Laboratory was established in 1993, along with the founding of the Physics Study Program at the Faculty of Science (formerly known as the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences). The laboratory consists of two rooms: a practicum room covering an area of 110.67 m2 with a capacity of 60 people, and a laboratory staff/assistant/equipment storage room covering an area of 29.02 m2. Currently, the Basic Physics Laboratory is also equipped with computers to support the development of computer-based experiments. The laboratory is supported by qualified human resources, including lecturers and assistants with undergraduate and master’s degrees, as well as 3–4 laboratory assistants from final-year physics students.

The Basic Physics Laboratory is one of the facilities used to support practicum activities, providing resources that meet scientific needs, including adequate space, equipment, and competent human resources (laboratory staff and assistants). Moreover, the role of the Basic Physics Laboratory continues to evolve—not only in supporting routine practicum activities, but also in assisting the teaching of other courses beyond basic physics, as well as in supporting research within the physics study program.
